On Thursday March 29th, 2012 Seaford Volunteer Fire Department's EMS crew was asked to assist Sussex County Emergency Medical Service in testing their new "METI Man" in the field. METI Man is an almost life like manikin that allows ALS and BLS to practice their skills at a new level never done before. Previously, SCEMS has been utilizing METI Man in a controlled enviroment to test assessment skills. But as many know, there is nothing controlled about emergency care. So in order to make practice more life like, SCEMS wanted to trial METI Man in the field with the cooperation of the SVFD. Overall the test went very well and SCEMS hopes to try scenarios with other departments.
